The FORTGROUP company with its Moscow “Zolotoy Vavilon Rostokino” shopping and entertainment complex made it into the top 10 biggest malls in Europe by Gross Leasable Area (GLA). The rating was published on the CIAN website.

“Zolotoy Vavilon Rostokino” retail complex took ninth position in the top 10, taking the leasable area of 170,000 square meters in total. The rating leader is Moscow’s “Aviapark” with its GLA of 230,000 square meters. The Russian capital’s “MEGA. Belaya dacha” complex with a GLA of 222,000 square meters took second place. The Spanish Puerto Venecia (207,000) square meters took third.

Tree UK malls also made it into the top 10: Intu Metrocentre, Westfield Stratford City and The Trafford Centre, Marineda City - another Spanish center and also “MEGA. Khimki” with Austrian Shopping City Sud.

“Zolotoy Vavilon Rostokino” was built in 2009. FORTGROUP renamed this object – it has been given the name “Evropolis Rostokino”, thus becoming the namesake of the company’s Saint Petersburg flagship. The mall’s total area, taking the public spaces and technical facilities into account, is more than 242,000 square meters, and the total number of shops exceeds 400.

The work for the new concept for this trade complex is nearing its end. FORTGROUP is creating a new concept in collaboration with two European architectural bureaus: a UK Chapman Taylor and a Spanish CLEVERTECK. By the way, the malls of these two countries, together with Russia, comprised the European top 10 almost entirely.
