CITY FOOD in Europolis Shopping Center, Rostokino: New Gastronomic Reality

The first stage of the CITY FOOD gastronomic space has opened in Europolis Shopping Center in Rostokino, Moscow. The new gastronomy cluster will bring together some 35 different food concepts, offering guests a wide choice of dishes to suit any taste.

The CITY FOOD concept proposes bringing together fast food and slow food operators in one area. Fast food operators generally open faster, and they are usually followed by gastronomy enthusiasts.

CITY FOOD offers Italian, Russian, American, Turkish, Japanese and Chinese cuisines. The food outlets include famous chains and emerging food operators, such as the Thai cuisine restaurant Tasty Thai; Livan House, which offers eastern fast food; Ecook, a health food restaurant; Greekstreet, which has Mediterranean street food with elements of Greek fusion, and others. Appearing soon are the Japanese ramen houses Chou Do and IKIGAI; the Vietnamese cafe Bo`; Ojahuri from Georgia; the Vasilchuk brothers’ Gilo restaurant; Right Hops Bar with its craft beers; Lavanda Eclair, a confectionary with French desserts; the Thai noodle house YODA Express; the San Diego Mexican cafe; Batman and the Uzbeks, from Uzbekistan; Zabyli Sakhar (You Forgot the Sugar), a confectionary which serves breakfast and healthy desserts, and others.

The design of CITY FOOD has been developed by the DA Architects studio in St. Petersburg. The space stands out with its unusual interior, large amounts of greenery, use of natural materials and high-quality designer furniture. The area is divided into zones and has a unique restaurant ambience. The food hall is located in the very heart of the shopping center on Level 2, and fits seamlessly with the surrounding shopping galleries. A unique feature of the architecture is the artistic glass chandelier in the form of an overturned evening dress, much loved by shoppers.

CITY FOOD occupies an area of around 11,000 square metres and seats around 2,000 people. KIDS LAND is a specially equipped area for workshops, designed for families with children. The gastronomy cluster will host culinary festivals, workshops, shows and other events for children and adults.

“Moscow has a well-developed dining out scene, with communal concepts, where people eat together and without barriers between different restaurants. This is where a person feels free, people are not bound by obligatory rituals or requirements and so on. A good atmosphere, a sense of freedom and openness are the key characteristics of the gastronomy market,” says Maxim Levchenko, Managing Partner of FORTGROUP.

CITY FOOD in Rostokino is not FORTGROUP’s first experience of creating gastronomic spaces. In July 2019, a similar project was opened in City Mall Shopping Center in St. Petersburg.
