IKEA to Open in EUROPOLIS Shopping Center in Rostokino, Moscow

FORTGROUP Management Company, which manages the Europolis Shopping Center in Rostokino, has signed a contract with Ingka Group to open a city format IKEA store with an area of 11,800 square meters. The store will open in the fall of 2020.

The new IKEA store in Rostokino’s Europolis Shopping Center will offer a range of essential household items. Here you will be able to purchase and take home accessories and small pieces of furniture, while delivery is available for larger items. The new IKEA will be different from other city format stores such as IKEA Khodynskoye Pole and the IKEA in Mozaika Shopping Center, as it will include a 2,000 square meter warehouse and a collection point for IKEA products purchased online.

The convenient location of the shopping center and the new IKEA store will make it even easier for residents of Moscow to add a little comfort to their homes. Europolis Shopping Center is one of the largest facilities in Moscow. It is located in the Northeastern Administrative District, near Sviblovo and Botanichesky Sad metro stations, within walking distance of Rostokino station on the Moscow Central Circle (MCC). Its proximity to the third transport ring means that shoppers can reach the store by car. Additionally, customers can use the free shuttle buses which run from Sviblovo and Otradnoe stations.

“The opening of yet another city format store in Moscow continues our strategy of developing the system of multichannel sales. We expect that the new IKEA store will be visited by more than 4 million people annually, meaning that life in millions of homes will change for the better. New formats have already achieved success on the Moscow market, and we are happy to announce that very soon they will be coming to other cities in Russia as well. This year, there are many new discoveries ahead for us,” said Pontus Erntell, General Director and Director for Sustainable Development of the IKEA retail chain in Russia.

“Year 2019 became a year of grand renewal for Europolis Shopping Centre in Rostokino, as we worked on the new concept for our store, its rebranding and renaming.  We are happy that such a strong brand, well-loved by Muscovites, became our partner.  Since the shopping centre is located near the metro stations of Sviblovo and Botanichesky Sad, and within the awlking distance from Rostokino MCR station, IKEA is becoming ever closer to its shoppers.  We are looking forward to the opening of the new store,” said Maksim Levchenko, Managing Partner of FORTGROUP.
